Reminds of my gym, were people wait in the cars for a close parking space rather then park across the street.

Yeah the people at mine do the same thing. They'll drive around and around waiting for the spots closest to the door to become available, its quite amusing.

Should be safe. There's building a mall here in downtown Houston with outdoor escalators, and it does rain here.

That picture reminds me of an old-set-up on Newbury St. in Boston back in my youth.

There used to be a WeightWatchers center on the top floor of a shop building and the bottom floor was dedicated to 'Enchanted Forest": a candy store that had a forest theme one walked through where even the river was made of little blue candies and the leaves on the branches of the trees were giant lollipops. You know, so that you could instantly celebrate the two pounds you lost since last week by 'splurging, just a little'...

Observations:

1. Yes it is funny.

2. I think they used this on an episode of The Biggest Loser last season.

3. Partially understandable... after doing my jog/run for 1 hour the last thing I want to do is climb stairs... I dunno.

4. At least people are actually going to the gym. It would be more sad if it was a McDonalds at the top.

Only four observations, roo?

I expect a 10-pages essay by tomorrow!

Wasn't that place super fun? I remember the actual quality and taste of the candies there was pretty poor, but it was just the best place to visit as a store. It was like going to Wonka's chocolate factory. Never went to the Weight Watchers on top of it though, but my family always had a theory that the two were in on a deal together to make sure people's weight kept vascilating weekly and they never could quit either store.

Steps:
1. Starve yourself for a week and dream of all the sweets you are denying yourself.
2. Learn you have lost two pounds when you do your weekly weigh-in at Weight Watchers.
3. Break down right as you leave thr weight clinic and 'treat' yourself to all the sweets you've been dreaming of since you want to 'celebrate' a successful week where you finally 'lost those two pounds.'
4. Put the two pounds right back on.
5. Repeat cycle for as many weeks as needed.

But if you've already finished your exercises, wouldn't you be going down the steps (leaving the gym) rather than up, anyways?

Just teasing, I know what you are saying. Back in the day when I used to motivate and move my lazy bum, I would run the Philly marathon. It ended right at the museum of fine arts, which as everyone knows, is where the infamous Rocky scene occurred. At the end of the marathon you'de arrive there, and Rocky music wold be BLASTING! And all these happy 'victorious' people who had just finished the marathon would run up the entire set of steps of the museum immitating Rocky. Whenever I finished I would just sit the hell down on the nearest patch of grass and pass out. There was no way in hell I could even contemplate climbing, like, two steps.

It's an old thread, but it's an even older image. But still makes me chuckle.
