 Crying like a little ...
... so tonight was the last night of my job. I'm moving from being a receptionist to a contractor with Kelly Services on a Microsoft assignment on Monday.
But tonight I had to say goodbye to the people at my job, and I gotta tell you, I am straight up balling my eyes out, in front of customers, etc.
I don't think I've ever had such a emotional response, it was completely genuine and so achingly hard to say goodbye to all of them.
Don't know why I'm telling you all!
I AM A MAN AND I CRY.

guys who have a thing against crying = in denial of true sexuality
Theres just a right level of crying for a guy.
Id say its OK to have a weep after The Notebook.
Not after Bad Boys 2 though

Only 1 year and 5 months, but I was their longest term receptionist ever, and in a small company I was also a key factor of many decisions. While I didn't run the showroom, I was the primary point of contact. Everybody expressed how much poorer of a place it would be without me, and it was really touching.
These people gave me a job when nobody else would, after being unemployed and unable to find a job for 3 straight years. They helped me get on my feet.
The position had no future for me (I didn't want to go into sales!) so it's good for everybody, I'm moving up my career ladder again, but you know.. .this is one of those "there will never be such a crazy bunch of kooky people you love to work with this much" type of vibe about it. Tonight is really heartwrenching

I can understand that very well. Sorry about that.
Personally, I can look forward to next year when I'll be off to the USA to study there, leaving all my friends here who I have been going to the same school with for the last 7+ years and seeing them almost every single day.

I nearly cried at the end of the episode about Fry's dog that he decides not to clone in the future after discovering it lived a long life which he hopes was happy, and then it shows the dog lead a crappy, sad life because it missed Fry. That was SSSSSOOO sad.

Me too! And yes, they were man-tears. I was chokin' them back, but it was sad. That episode alone stands as one of my favorite episodes of any television series, simply because they were able to bring out true emotions out of fictional characters that were animated. Powerful stuff.

I cry almost every day...and I've had people guess I was a guy at clubs before.
Not really kidding, but you get the point.
Its a big deal. I would expect nothing less. why? Because it meant that you were still invested in the space. not as an end point, since you said your projection wasn't sales, but as a step, or the people, or the physical spce, or any number of other factors. And hey, that's eight months more than most jobs I've held. Today, that's practically considered job security! I think its great to care. In fact, i'd be more worried for you if you said, good riddance, because that would have meant you didn't have one single ounce of personal investment in it, and that's a disturbing way to live life (unless you're conscious of it). Good for you. Its a healthy way to realize a chapter in the grande book has been penned, and a new one is on the horizon. I expect it has as much to do with the future as the past. So good luck with everything.
edit** Oh yeh. And I hate to stray, but what the hell is your avatar? I've been guessing for days, and have gotten as far as a little alien, but really, that's not enough info. what the hell is it?

Only time I have cried in the past 5 years was this year when the Eagles lost the superbowl.
I just don't cry, not sure why, just very rarely do.

Awww, behind all that cynicism beats a heart of gold.
I know you've talked of unemployment many a time, but I've always been somewhat curious as to how you ended up in such a position.
Best of luck to you, though, addrock. And man tears are perfectly acceptable here. Keep it brief, though.

It's E.T. (note the telescoping head and the light up finger) in the form that he looked in the brilliant marketing masterpiece that was the 1982 Atari game E.T. The Extra Terrestrial...

It sunk the Atari 2600.
