 Re: Your current relationship status
I'm an American. I love adding extra words to sentences while I'm stuffing my fat ass mouth with an extra gigantic meal from McDonald's!

Actually a lot of people just say "seriously" for emphasis, not to illustrate that they are being serious. But I can't believe we're actually debating semantics on the Internet which is probably the biggest waste of time I can think of. Debating semantics on the Internet is the same as debating semantics in-person; it's relevant. It's obviously not semantic if you're bothered enough to post about it. Just accept it and try not to make out you really don't care when you clearly do because you've posted. And you really shouldn't say "seriously" for emphasis unless you want to be taken seriously about your preceding statement. It defies logic to say something and not mean it. White man: "I hate you nigger" Black man: "What did you say?" White man: "I said nigger" Black man: "That's racist, man" White man: "Oh no, were you offended?" Black man: "I definitely was, idiot" White man: "I only said it for ... emphasis" Black man: Saying things for "emphasis" can be the new excuse. This is the WORST post ever posted on the internet. Seriously.

Go home, you're drunk. Take two.

 Re: Your current relationship status
American sarcasm always comes with a wink and a nudge at the end to let everyone know they're joking even though it is obvious from the start. The Colbert Report is an example of when American sarcasm isn't blatantly obvious to non-American parties. Thus American sarcasm isn't always obvious. This does not disprove the aforementioned statement, nor the original object in question. I present exhibit A: Quote: Yeah, just to take it clear that was a joke and I don't eat McDonald's besides the one or two Shamrock shakes a year. This statement was said by one movies35, an American, to point out his first statement was said in sarcasm, a wink wink nudge nudge to indicate his level of sarcasm, even though the opposing party, one Algren of British heritage, knew of its sarcastic intentions. Although the aside mentioned by one Dwight Schrute is ture with the specific circumstances of one Stephen Colbert, it does not disprove the original statement.
