Do Not Show Anything of Value script-wise until you have registered the script with WGA.
Protect your IP. As I've said, I'm not in the biz and I've had close family who I did not know had friends in the biz rip me off, so I definitely would not flash my IP without a condom.

WGA, The Writer's Guild of America will notarize a script or even a concept from a
non-member for $20, last I checked, so if anyone rips you, your concept or plot, or script or valuable scraps are dated and filed for future proof of concept.
They will accept filings from non-members.

You could also copyright the work, but that will set you back over $150, I think.

Actually, easiest way to copyright something is mail it to you, have it postmarked and then sent to you and never open it.

Though there was a recent court case that shows that even if you email it to yourself, save it in a folder, it will time stamp it and it also proves date of copyright. Also don't delete any of your emails or pms on here that you sent out to other people. Also gives a proof of entry long before anyone else can.

getting a WGA number is also cheap to do, and more professional, and keeps it yours for like 5 years.

You're not being negative or positive, but you are certainly being quite stupid for placing predictions either way. Espec. given the fact that my script will bring even the most cold hearted to tears as Thegun can attest to. If one cannot identify with any of my script, they are seriously lacking some emotions.

You're not allowed to do that, most studios request you delete all blogging accounts before that ever happens.

Like they will ever know. Besides the point, I suspect we never see that post anyway, and not for the reason you gave.

The minute you sell a script you lose authorship and have to sign confidentiality agreements, you're not allowed to discuss anything about the project in public domain unless given permission from PR departments in authorized settings.

Agreements can be altered for such a super script...as Excel clearly has.

In high school, I conceived and began writing a two-person play chronicling a troubled day in the marriage of Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes. I did not finish it, but I still believe the idea has potential.

Depending on the date of that, you still might have to buy the rights to that, or at least alter it enough for the "Inspired by True Events" category.
