Ha! As a person who has seen The Notebook about 5 million times and has harbored an obsession with Ryan Gosling since then, this is hilarious.

I really want to see The Notebook. Ever since it had that great run. I have no desire to see (500) Days of Summer.

IMO, The Notebook is one of the best straight-up romantic dramas of the past ten years.

Before Sunset, Eternal Sunshine of the spotless Mind (the drama part is debatable, okay), Once, Brokeback Mountain, Pride & Prejudice, Closer (again, debatable inclusion)...

The Notebook is still far and away the best of the Nicholas Sparks adaptations, which have basically become their own genre at this point.
Although I do have a soft spot for A Walk to Remember.

Heh, Blue Valentine seems way too depressing from start to finish to ever be considered romantic. It's like one of the least romantic romances ever, heh.
But I'm sure there are other films, those just came to my mind. Like Atonement. Or Safe Haven.
I kid...I kid...

Notebook has a very simple but great storyline...Its a typical story, rich girl..poor guy and they meet and fall in love.
Meanings it is one of the rare emotional romance films that even guys will like...
I watched the film to see what all the buzz was about, well I can see why Women like this film so much.

Gosling and McAdams also legitimately had some of the best movie chemistry I've ever seen. It's been a while since I've seen a film where a couple had the same kind of chemistry together.
Gosling and Emma Stone in Crazy, Stupid Love come kinda close, although that's a much different kind of movie. Maybe that's just because Gosling is the sexiest human being of all time and could have chemistry with a lampshade.

I'm not the biggest fan of The Notebook but the recent Sparks movies (and The Vow) make me appreciate it more.

Love this movie and this was hysterical. I still firmly believe that McAdams was robbed for an Oscar nod.
That being said, I don't find Gosling attractive at all.

D'uh. The guy had good chemistry with a sex doll in Lars and the Real Girl.

I agree about the chemistry...
They really felt like a real life couple and the film actually almost made them into one for crying out loud.

Oh lord, so many people do and I wasn't using it as a serious sentence or something. He is ok, but I don't go crazy over him like most people do.
