Actually, BOM is conveying Sean's personality perfectly. Cold, dead, robotic...
Michael, look at sites like aint it cool news. Big site, big on personality. Having the opinion stuff being so prominent will never allow it to be cold and lifeless.

Aint it Cool News pushes the boundaries there mainly cause
A - its got the worst design out of any movie site
B - its personality is so audible it deafens you on entry, with a AMAZINGLY CAPITAL typo
C - the man behind the personality is so easy to dislike it makes you want to vomit all over the site.
Like BOM, AICN provides users with something they cant generally find anywhere else - insider scoops fed to Harry by the studios.
I guess it all boils down to content - presentation and personality are elements that can maintain the people you attract, but the contents what originally gets them there.

 Re: www.worldofkj.com
I'll answer the questions too, and hopefully, this thread will be extremely helpful to Eagle, bABA, and the rest of us.
Questions
1. How often do you check out more than just the forums here? Do you have any interest in the site, or just a place to hangout?
Im normally only in the forum. I guess once a week I check the main site. I should do more cause the work that is done is simply :2up:
2. Is this place your home on the net, and if so , do you miss your last net home?
The Forum becomes more and more my most visited site of the day. Yes. I love the forum cause the users. Some interesting people here =D>
You can nice talk about Box office, movies and other stuff....
3. Do you like the direction of the site, and the upcoming plans of interactive games, news, exclusives, reviews, trailers, predictions and analysis, opinion columns, etc...?
Foe me personally its not necessary. The site already rocks how it is. But if you have the time. Why not.
4. Do you feel like the name and site design have what it takes to attract people to find out what our content is? Have a look. http://www.worldofkj.com
The Design of the site (Btw: nicely done and still very functional) makes clear what it is about here. Perhaps you would not connect the site name with Box office if you don know whats going on here. So new users may have a problem to find the site (eg with entering Box office in google).

WOKJ has little to offer in the movie website area, because there are so many others already established. Rottentomatoes for reviews; IMDb for info; BOM and The-Numbers for boxoffice; AICN for exclusivity (l guess...l never go there); Oscarwatch for oscars; apple for trailers (or yahoo, or whatever). Yes, all that is covered here...but really, it's just forum members' opinions, and hobbies...it's nothing professional. So, really, WOKJ is by it's very nature a "personal site".
Ok, now l can't even remember where this discussion was headed - expansion? attracting members? Either way, l think that no matter how much you add it's gonna stay "personal." l also think it's probably better that way.

Not very often to be honest, but things like the Sin City analysis prompt me to do it more often
2. Is this place your home on the net, and if so , do you miss your last net home?
Well, it is the site I visit most frequently and no, I don't really miss any others.
3. Do you like the direction of the site, and the upcoming plans of interactive games, news, exclusives, reviews, trailers, predictions and analysis, opinion columns, etc...?
Yes, but I still care about it being more personal and not turn into a generic movies site because there are already many of those out there.
4. Do you feel like the name and site design have what it takes to attract people to find out what our content is? Have a look. http://www.worldofkj.com
The design is okay, but to attract more people, a name change is in order, I'd say.

In response to a name change and such. Name won't be changing, however ...
Very soon (within a week or so) the movie page should be done. As well as sports, and all the others. In the future, I COULD get another domain name, and thus change the name, I could also mirror a new name to this site ... like ... if someone types in ... moviesofkj or Cinemania.com or Criticshaven or whatever they would end up here ... who knows ... I am not attached to the name, just no reason to change it right now.
In the future I don't want the site to become a 'news portal' like AICN, or Dark Horizons, but that doesnt mean we wont post exclusive news if we get it. Rather I would like to be a home for all articles movie wise. Maybe a movie article archive of sorts, who knows. Time will tell.
For now we go with the flow, keep your answers coming, I am reading them and they are appreciated as well as helpful.

I just cruise the forums. Don't check any other forums. Infact, any other sites at all....apart from the od film one here and there.
2. Is this place your home on the net, and if so , do you miss your last net home?
I do not miss BOM. I'm glad i'm here because i couldn't stand there shitty trivial rules. This is my home i suppose....this and eBay...
3. Do you like the direction of the site, and the upcoming plans of interactive games, news, exclusives, reviews, trailers, predictions and analysis, opinion columns, etc...?
All that doesn't bother me, unless it slows the forums down, then i shall be annoyed.
4. Do you feel like the name and site design have what it takes to attract people to find out what our content is? Have a look. http://www.worldofkj.com
The name is okay. The site design is very cool. The name could be something more to do with movies...but then, that would be too bland....so :???:
