I do not understand football very well, but I always end up watching the Super Bowl, and this one was definitely dull.

It doesn't help the tension of the game and getting people into it when Seattle dominates from the very first snap of the game.

Manning wasn't going to retire anyway, but he's definitely not going to retire now.

Well...

Absolutely terrible game for me to watch. Reminded me of horrible Buffalo Bills nightmare SBs back in the day.

The commercials were mostly Shit.
Freaking transformer riding a god damn oversized dinobot. What a nightmare.
The audio during the interview with the winners. Barely understood half of it.

Peyton will never be winning another SB. I think that's clear. Defense wins championships yet again and Denver isn't gonna fix that before Peyton is done. Heck, the Seahawks will probably win back to back titles if they get homefield again.

Least competitive Super bowl I have ever watched, Denver was shut down period. I expected a Seattle victory, but in a close game with both teams scoring over 20 points. Talk about domination, not even the 2003 Bucs/Raiders game was this lopsided and I was going for the Bucs that year as they have been my favorite NFL team since around 1998. It was like watching Seattle play the worst team in the league, total dominance.

Seattle has a very young team and should be favored to do it again next year. Their biggest challenge looks to be the 49ers once again. I'm hoping for a different outcome next year at the new Santa Clara stadium.

I saw the worst blowout SB as a kid when the Niners beat the Broncos by 45 points that was still worse than this one. Probably the worst blowouts since the Bills got humiliated by the Cowboys.
Also, I have a feeling the Niners could have beaten the Broncos. It is obvious the NFC was the best conference this year.

It was really a two team league this year though. Whoever was coming out of that NFC game was going to win the whole thing.

Only idiots think the 2013 Bronco's were the greatest offense of all time.

They were statistically, therefor they kinda were.

That is with no context. The league heavily favors the offense now, much more than in the past. They were not in the same zip code, in terms of efficiency or diversity of talents, as the 2007 Patriots, the 2011 Packers, 1998 Vikings, 1999 - 2001 Rams, et al. The Bronco's rely on picks and screens. That's it. Take those away - the colts did it earlier this year - and they're in huge trouble. They were totally unprepared for the Seahawks and were not capable of adjusting.

Anybody who actually watched the full games knows what I mean. The 2007 Pats were so good at so many different things. The 2011 Packers were the same way. The 1998 Vikings, who in my opinion were the greatest offense ever, had an elite running back in Smith, elite receiver in Carter, cannon armed QB in Cunningham, an all universe offensive line, and the greatest weapon in NFL history named Randy Moss, who nobody had figured out and was completely unstoppable all season long.

The Broncos have...screen passes and pick plays. Running it up on teams n their horrible division is not impressive whatsoever. Any student of the game knew they were in trouble tonight, just as I told everybody two weeks ago.

I think the late 80 Niner teams had a better offense than the Broncos, you have Montana, Rice, a great OL, Taylor (very underrated WR), Roger Craig (a great all purpose RB), and a few other great parts. And then you had the old rules. If today's rules were around back then Montana and the Niners would have destroyed those records.

The change of rules is matched by increased talent. Jerry Rice would not be early as effective today as he was in the 1980s,.

I was being sarcastic. Sorta.

I was talking about NFL having these current rules int he 80s. Still, if you don't think Jerry Rice is not the greatest WR ever you are crazy. I saw him play he was amazing, there hasn't been a WR since better than him.

Statistically they are, but no I do not think they were the best offense ever, that rests with the 2007 Patriots for me.

That said, the 1998 Vikes are still the best. Nobody had a clue how to guard Randy Moss. 19 total touchdowns as a ROOKIE on ~120 targets.

I still go with the 89 Niners they were the best offensive team to win the SB. And they did that before the NFL changed the rules further in the 90s that aided the Vikings, Rams, and the Patriots to be able to dominant offensively.

Jerry Rice's game does not translate that well to this era where defensive backs are much faster than in the 1980s or 1990s, Deion and Darrell Green withstanding.

Rice would be a very good player, sure. But if you ignore his pedigree and simply compare his skills, I don't think any scout in their right mind would take him over prime Moss, Owens, Harrison, Calvin, or even AJ Green.

The 1985 Bears scheme would never work in todays pass happy league. The Seahawks defense, considering there is a salary cap and how pass happy the league is, is almost unthinkably good.

5th round picks are not supposed to get you Richard Sherman and Kam Chancellor type players. Malcolm Smith a 7th rounder. Chris Clemons was undrafted. Bobby Wagner was a mid 2nd rounder. Earl Thomas and bruce Irvin are the only real high picks.
