What was the point of giving Batista and Mysterio the titles in the first place? If it was only to start a lame sexual harassment angle, then I would have appreciated if MNM just had kept the titles two weeks ago.

John Cena vs. Kurt Angle - First Blood on Monday. Partially, Angle vs. Cena at New Year's Revolution. Probably Angle vs. Cena at the Royal Rumble. And if WWE can get away with it, I'm sure they'll do Angle vs. Cena at Wrestlemania, although I hear they're planning on giving Triple H the title shot over Angle.

Angle vs. Cena until Unforgiven. Oh the horrors.

I wouldn't be surprised at all. I think they should have just gave the title to Angle at the start of the feud, and had Cena fight back for it. It's difficult to watch a heel fighting for the title.

The Angle/Cena feud is starting to resemble Eddie Guerrero/Rey Mysterio from last year. Some great matches from the two, but Rey won every match until the last one, and that didn't really justify giving Eddie a rematch every time. But, at least Angle has won some non-title matches against Cena. If the First Blood is non-title, I would fully expect Angle to win on Monday.

My God, TSN sucks. They're only airing an hour and 30 minutes of RAW tonight, so I won't be watching until it re-airs in its entirety tomorrow at 4:30.

New Year's Revolution isn't looking as bad as I thought it would. I'll be more than happy when Vince's mug is off TV, and we actually have a new GM.

Smackdown sounds like the same shit, different week.

I got bored the other day and felt like watching a bit of wrestling. cept that i'm sort of out of touch and bored with it for years so i decided to turn to the only thing about wrestling i always loved .... royal rumbles.

i got hold of a few over the years and man .. was i having a great time .. but i noticed something as i watched them.

1998 royal rumble was great ... so were the few around it .. hell, even 2002 was pretty cool. then i got hold of 2004 and 2005 and i felt like crying ... the quality just seemed to go down and i was trying to figure out why?

There were quite a few names i didn't recognise in the 1998, 99, 97 rumbles as well but i enjoyed them. in the 2005, i was familiar with most but a few i wasn't so i don't think that was the problem.

what seems to suck about the rumbles were that the people involved were just not impressive. i mean go back a few years and i'm looking at undertaker, diesel, mankind, big show and many others ... they all had a character and they built their characters. it was cool. they had some identity. even steve austin was Stone Cold and acted as such, shawn michaels was the heart break kid. they all seem to have an identity and something interesting.

i'm looking at the wrestlers now and i'm seeing bruce johnson, nick tyler, steven smith type names and my mouth just hangs open. none of them have charisma, they have no character. they're all sooooo generic!! I mean Edge is fun to watch and follow, big show is too, even benioit ain't bad ... he brought a lot to wrestling. but most of the mediocre tier guys are just ... bleh!

If you look over the years, there was Andre the Giant, macho man, then hulkamania, then the hitman era, undertaker era, stone cold and the rock era. these guys were actually cool. even Lex Lugar was great even though i didn't like him. Now i'm folllowing wrestling once in a while and your top dog is John Cena!! no offense but this guy isn't someone i would look at and say hes going down in history as a 'memorable' dude. He aint even a Booker T (who is great btw). I mean seriously, hes a stupid babyface .. looking ... babyface who feels more of a fad than anything else, even if they keep him at the top spot for years. i don't feel that 'indentity' type vibe from him that i did from the other greats.

There are really few characters i enjoy from the new generation. Mysterio holds his own and booker T and Big Show have something left. But when guys like Undertaker start to retire and you can tell hes getting tired (hes a big man), who are they going to build?

and this entire smackdown, raw shit ... arrghhh its sooooooooo annoying.

Cena as the champ makes me cry, too.

I actually got back into wrestling a few years ago, I forget why I started watching it again, but team ECK kept me coming back! (Edge, Christian, Kurt Angle, all of whom HILARIOUS) Those were actually the best times because, for once in my life, I actually liked who the WWF champion was. I hated Yokozuna, was not fond of Brett Hart, Diesel was OK. But Kurt Angle was AWWWEEESSSOOOMME! The only PPV me and my brother ordered since we started watching was the one where he won the title. Great match! We kind of lost touch with wrestling, though, after team ECK split up. There's no one as funny as those guys were at their peak.

Angle is one of the last of the original and hilarious characters left. I used to crack up everytime he used to say something, everyone booed and he would end by saying "its true, its true". More that "What?", "Can you smell what the rock is cooking?" "Rest in Peace" and all the other catch phrases, none entertained me as much as Its true.

Kurt Angle used to be great, one of the greatest. But, he's too aggressive and serious now. I think it was more fun when he was more comical, while being a heel. It might work now (the aggression) if he could get some sort of a leg-up on Cena. His little win over Cena in some 6-man tag team match isn't much of a leg-up in the feud, and there cannot be a feud unless the two guys get good back and forth action throughout, not just one guy winning all the major matches.

Anyway, the main reason I wanted to post in the thread is that on Byte This! (WWE.com's online talk show, featuring various WWE superstars interviewed by Todd Grisham), there are quite a few fans calling in over the past two weeks quickly shouting "TNA is better than WWE" and hanging up. If this is for real, I think this makes TNA look childish and weak. It only makes WWE look better. I may not agree with Vince McMahon saying that there's no rival company at all, when TNA is building a loyal fanbase (like ECW, which obviously wasn't much competition to WWE), but not acknowledging only makes WWE look better. When TNA starts talking WWE, they just look like bitter men who lost their jobs.

But... maybe it's not real. It could be WWE setting this all up, by taking fake calls. But I don't know. Sounds real to me, but so did Matt Hardy getting fired, and I still don't know if he really was fired or not. The WWE does a good job of keeping me guessing. And maybe the wool is being pulled over all our eyes, and WWE and TNA have some sort of pact. But, I'd assume that someone would know by now.

Oh, and I finally got "Cheating Death, Stealing Life: The Eddie Guerrero Story" tonight. I only read three pages. Great so far, but I had to stop when he said that the drugs and alcohol over the years almost killed him a few times. Had to stop reading at that point. I'm tired as it is, so I'll restart tomorrow.

I admit, Hardy was one of their best kept secrets in a long time.

I watched Smackdown earlier tonight and ew, it sucks. Raw is about a billion times better.

Also... JBL's manager. DAMN. What the hell?! Is it a requirement to have DD or higher now to be hired as a diva in the WWE? Im not complaining or anything, but it's a little fucking ridiculous!

Smackdown certainly needs some improvements. I believe that Mark Henry signed a ten-year contract like eight or nine years ago, so this is believed to be his last run in the WWE. I think they should have just let him go.

BTTF, you better make some predictions. If I can later, I'll do some in-depth ones, but for now, just some quick picks to win tonight.

Trish vs. Mickie: Mickie will win, but no one will turn heel. It'll just piss off Trish more and more.

Edge vs. Ric Flair: Flair will win, since Edge really doesn't need the IC title when he's going to be cashing in on his Money in the Bank within the next three months (I think).

Gregory Helms vs. Jerry Lawler: When is the last time Lawler won a PPV match? Gregory wins by cheating. Or beating the hell out of the King.

Big Show vs. Triple H: Triple H has the odds against him now, so it's only natural to make him look invincible. He'll win, but it might be a DQ finish.

Bra-and-Panties Gauntlet: Maria takes the win. Don't ask why, she just will.

Elimination Chamber: Tough call. I think the WWE needs to put Cena in pursuit of the title leading up until Wrestlemania. If they take the title off him tonight, and have a Smackdown guy win the Royal Rumble (it's about time), then he can win some sort of tournament for the No. 1 Contender's spot for WM22. To go against EVERYONE else, I'll say Angle. Even though I know WWE doesn't want to take the title off Cena. Might as well go out on a limb, though.

HOLY SHIT! I forgot to comment on NYR, but... HOLY SHIT!! That was so fucking out-of-nowhere. I didn't really pay any mind to it, but something would have had to have been up when Angle and Kane were the first two eliminated.

And yeah, Edge with Lita sucks. I like Cena more.
