Neither deep nor poignant to be evolving. Plus there is no sense of back story here which makes it feels like a short story stretched to a feature length (if it was like a few minutes short it could be passed as Limited Episode of a TV series). The movie also need one confrontation between father and son or maybe even more time between the two.
