Re: Siberia
It has a lot of great ideas and Ferrara always has a great knack of building beautiful-intriguing but haunting worlds but this movie fails to connect all its ideas into a coherent theme. The whole concept of trying to find himself does not really come to life with the end. The movie shy's away from deep study into this character's psyche other than the hallucinations, never getting the sense why he got them in the first place. William Dafoe is brilliant in his second back-to-back collaboration with director Abel Ferrara and the director is comfortable to bring out the best in him. There are tons of nudity and sex scenes here some of which serve the purpose of showing how broken Clint is. I felt Tommaso was much more slight in ideas but it had better execution and thus left more impact.
