Re: The Last Champion
This was decent following the exact formula of this year's Ben Affleck driven sports drama The Way Back and comes out a much weaker version of the two in pretty much every department. The acting, the anguish, the redemption are all there but nothing feels genuine here specially because there is a bank villain from the beginning (a character we explored but are given a reason for his actions). Sports is secondary here and the finale while exciting is just there to pronounce a victory for the lead. Cole Hauser does well as a pretty face but again doesn't bring that anguish or pain needed for this character. The supporting cast is pretty much forgettable.
