The film is based on the 1938 novel of the same name by Daphne du Maurier and stars Lily James, Armie Hammer, Kristin Scott Thomas, Tom Goodman-Hill, Keeley Hawes, Sam Riley, and Ann Dowd.

Rebecca was released in select theatres on 16 October 2020, and digitally on Netflix on 21 October 2020.

Its pretty to look at and the performances are great specially from Kristin Scott Thomas but it fails to generate any thrills or suspense and the final act with the courthouse drama was a big letdown. I haven't seen the original Rebecca movie but I highly doubt this will convert many people.

Gorgeous cinematography and production values but the way the story is told is quite dull. I also found the performances surprisingly bland considering I'm a fan of Lily James and Armie Hammer. Kristin Scott Thomas was good though. C+
