Olivia (Isabel Sandoval), an undocumented Filipino transwoman, works as a caregiver to Olga (Lynn Cohen), an elderly Russian woman, in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. When Olivia runs out of options to attain legal status in the US, she becomes romantically involved with Alex (Eamon Farren), Olga's adult grandson, in the pursuit of a marriage-based green card.

Post Re: Lingua Franca
Isabel Sandoval was great in this and its easy to fall in love with Olivia and Alex even though their love is not as believable and the reasons for love aren't always same. Eamon Farren also does well though his love feels a little too early. Lynn Cohen was wasted here because there was a great arc for her which the movie never realizes. The central conflict is done really well and the final scene between the two leads is heartbreaking whichever side you route for. The movie feels rushed at times when it comes to building the relationship between the two leads.
