 The Assisstant (2020)  Quote: The Assistant is a 2019 American drama film written, directed, produced, and edited by Kitty Green. It stars Julia Garner, Matthew Macfadyen, Makenzie Leigh, Kristine Froseth, Noah Robbins and Jon Orsini.
It had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival on August 30, 2019. It was released on January 31, 2020, by Bleecker Street.

Re: The Assisstant (2020) Its one of those movies that captures a rare subject and does it VERY well. Julia Garner is very talented and Kitty Green uses her strength's well here. The movie covers a generic Monday in life of an assistant who lends a dream job but by the end of the day you feel how the character is trapped in this hostile workplace environment. It was a great decision to never show the boss and the two assistants do really well. The HR scene with Matthew Macfadyen is crafted perfectly. One of the best movies of 2020 thus far.

Re: The Assisstant (2020) As someone that has been through the industry assistant experience this movie is incredibly eerie and accurate. Julia Garner is tremendous.

Re: The Assisstant (2020) I was watching this film, and despite the strong performance from Julia Garner I was starting to feel a little bored, so I checked the time, fully expecting it to be in 30-40 minute mark. To my surprise, the movie was almost over when I did this. So I give it respect for that. For coming in, saying what it had to say, and getting out without lingering. Good pacing is key for movies like this.
