The setup and the house are menacing with the cast keeping things afloat. I didn't love the ending and the way story ends but the things before that are enough to make this a great entry. Its exactly the type of movie which Mike would love :D

I didn't love the ending either, but damn was this movie pretty creepy. The solid performances definitely help with the slower build-up and I appreciated how different it was when it comes to how they handled the haunted house concept. The third act of this film was quite creative and effective for what it was, although like I said the ending could have been a bit stronger.

Good to know. I'm very interested in this one. Kind of waiting for the right time to watch it. I've been too tired to after work and don't want to during the day because it's been sunny and nice out. A cloudy/rainy day would be better. I also don't watch as many movies this time of year.

Relic and 2016's A Dark Song are the two movies I'll recommend for you specifically A Dark Song. Both movies have some really amazing atmosphere and settings

Surprisingly I was not a fan. I don't generally mind slower paced films but I found this one pretty uninteresting and hard to get invested in.

5/10 (C)
