Re: Abe
A wonderful movie about a religiously dysfunctional family through the eyes of a 12 year boy. The movie invites you in the world of Abe with all the religious family fights at the dinner table. He wants them to get along and tries to follow both religion but whichever religion he follows that day it ends up making the other family unhappy. Abe is passionate about cooking and learns about fusion recipes to bring the two families together with food this upcoming Thanksgiving.
The events of the film feel so relevant yet grounded in reality while not being too in your face. The final resolution is great and heartwarming. Noah Schnapp does a decent job carrying the film. The story is good but the screenplay is uneven with the final resolution coming too swiftly. Very impressed with Fernando Grostein Andrade's direction here though.
