Re: Chappaquiddick
This is a riveting and sobering account of a political cover-up, of the machinery of power and wealth turning to bend the truth, influence the media, and preserve the career of a "Great Man" despite his abominable behavior and a young woman's death. John Curran (The Painted Veil, Tracks) directs it with a David Fincher-esque eye for procedural detail, detail which in turn reveals human frailty. It is an unsparing portrait of Ted Kennedy's cowardice and self-absorption at this moment in time without being a quote-unquote hit piece; the fact it rouses a level of discomfort among those of us who warmly regard his tenure in the Senate is a positive and productive attribute.

I had a very good and informative time with this, it definitely only scratches the surface of certain events, but it's a well told story with nice performances. Really liked Clarke in this and Helms is good too. It's crisply directed and with a effective score, it's well paced, interesting to learn about the story itself and especially the workings of government in protecting a name and party at all costs for political gain is entertaining insight.

Agreed with the above posts its riveting, past paced with great performances from the entire cast specially Clarke and Helms. Not everything is given full exposure specially the parts with father came out really slight and the police work seemed completely abandoned after the first half. The scenes in the house with strategy discussions were the best scenes of the movie.
