Re: Rage (怒り, Ikari)
Rage is neither good nor bad. Wasn't really sure what to expect, usually never see any Japanese films and unfortunately this wasn't a good example of it for me. It's pretty much just a drama, lots of crying. Dialogue is very brief and simple and while it has an intriguing plot, it does feed of strength on it's whodunit development, it never gets really suspenseful. The mystery part is done right and music sweeps up from time to time for thrilling elements, but it never engrosses. It has somewhat an epic length of 140min. and really it get's a bit boring 2 hours in. The acts and emotions of the characters feel very robotic, like they act like this because of they're supposed to feel but not how they really feel, or maybe they do, but it's very surreal to me. Rage just comes across as plain and not very interesting.
