This is a very involving movie with terrific early performances by Weaving and Crowe. The latter is so fresh-faced and youthful, he almost registers as another actor than the A-list star we know, even though it is recognizably him at the same time. The blend of blindness, distrust, and photography as motifs/themes is clever and poignant.
