I didn't know everything about Jobs coming in so I was overall very compelled by his character, and the documentary raises the most interesting question about him, how can someone be such a contradiction? He treats Apple products like an artist but is Smaug-like protecting every dollar, is into Zen but his attitude is more often anti-Zen as an uptight prick lacking empathy, shows he knows what intimacy and emotional connection means to humans in his products but ignores that as a way to improve his own life? The most interesting moment in the doc is when Chrisann Brennan says "He blew it" about his life, which as the narrator remarks, is a striking thing to say about such a success in other ways

After the clear-eyed examination of Eliot Spitzer in Client 9, plus his solid Enron and Electric Car documentaries, I was surprised to see Alex Gibney make such a skewed vendetta of a documentary with Man in the Machine. He just seems to have a bug up his rear end on this particular subject. *D*
