Re: Hot Pursuit A Reese Witherspoon-Sofia Vergara pairing had potential. Even the trailers for this sort of made it look fun, kind of Miss Congeniality-esque. The movie is quite bad, however. And this is largely due to a shrill, unfunny screenplay. D+

That film was funnier but they were both trying to be serious and comedic and it didn't really work in ID but totally failed in this. I just couldn't belief how terrible this was and I was also somewhat offended with how slapstick Reese's character was. She seemed so incompetent at times. It wasn't a very good portrayal of a female cop.

Re: Hot Pursuit This certainly wasn't some masterpiece, but I thought it was a lot better than the dire reviews might have suggested. It has a couple of amusing scenes and I thought both Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara gave it their all even with a mediocre and underwritten screenplay. It's a bit unfortunate that their comedic chemistry is wasted on something that's such a trifle, as they definitely have a good rapport. It's definitely forgettable but a decent enough watch for a rainy day. B-/C+

Hot Pursuit
Why the hell did I watch this? Two of the most annoying performances ever from Reese Witherspoon and Sofía Vergara (especially Vergara). It's so cliché. I cannot believe they are still making this brand of trash. It's so Police Academy, it's just crap. The only reason it's not getting an F is because it means well. And no matter how annoying she is, Vergara's chest is the only character worth watching.

Re: Hot Pursuit One interesting thing I noticed in the end credits is that on the clapperboard it was called "DMWT", not Hot Pursuit, which I actually think is a much better title than the generic, low-rent, DTV-esque title that they settled on. "DMWT" is a fun title (Don't Mess with Texas) but also kind of relates to all of these police codes that Witherspoon's character constantly spurts out.

Re: Hot Pursuit The leads were good in this, even though Vergara plays the same character as on Modern Family. Its funny in parts too, but the plot sucks and the concept is stale.
