Re: The Longest Ride
Handsomely composed but way, way too long, and its melding of the two romances on hand here doesn't really work. The central romance between Britt Robertson and Scott Eastwood is cliched and predictable, but the two actors are both solid and make it work or the most part. It's a shame it keeps getting interrupted by the 1940s flashbacks, which seem like they want to be The Notebook-esque but mostly just fall flat and grind the movie to a halt when they start up again (which is...often). Middle of the road Sparks fare, probably a slight notch about Safe Haven and The Lucky One. C

Re: The Longest Ride
Surprisingly, this wasn't terrible. I really liked the flashback story, it's the present story that sucks hard.

Re: The Longest Ride
I hated it. I thought it was incredibly boring and the woman who played Ruth in the back story was simply atrocious. I will say I did enjoy the ending enough though.
