Stage Fright

It's pretty much a horror musical, but with the emphasis on musical, and the last 15 minutes dedicated to some serial killer going around killing a few people. It's a very bad film. Despite having a creepy and quite memorable serial killer (I imagine he could spawn a few sequels), the film isn't scary, intriguing, or the least bit entertaining.

If you have a serial killer film, make him kill people. Don't wait until opening night and then throw it all into one sequence. Stage Fright is trying to be avante garde but it ends up looking stupid. There is one good line, and it was also in the trailer:

Director: "What from Japanese culture is white and covers the face?"
Closet Gay: "Bukkake!"

But this isn't enough to stop it getting a low grade. Just to show how much I hate the combination of genres and especially musicals..

Yeah, I didn't like this one very much. It starts well but turns into a mess by the end and isn't as clever as it thinks it is. C
