Re: Bulletproof (1996)
I agree, a lot of fun despite the film's troubled production. Apparently it was hard R and they trimmed 25 minutes to make it PG-13. I'd love to see that version. Sandler and Wayans have some great chemistry, Cahn is funny and the action is serviceable despite some of the worst stuntmen coverups I've ever seen.
B+

I would love to see the R version of this. Because it's damn funny.

Re: Bulletproof (1996)
I think it's because Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore turned out to be such solid hits with younger teens, they got scared at the last minute.

Re: Bulletproof (1996)
The $25 mil and $38 mil total Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore? THOSE hits?

Re: Bulletproof (1996)
28 million budgets and 69 WW and 2 number one openings. They were certainly surprises at the time considering the other non SNL produced films of the time were flopping badly. Even Akyroyd, Murray, Chase, and Murphy were bombing in the mid 90s.

Re: Bulletproof (1996)
Happy Gilmore wasn't a #1 opening

Re: Bulletproof (1996)
You're right, I confused it with this film. Too many films I've looked at for #1 openings the past few weeks. They're all looping together.

Re: Bulletproof (1996)
I mean, this was Universals last film with him until Chuck and Larry. They should've just left it R. It could've broken out!

Re: Bulletproof (1996)
This was rated R. I remember it having a rather large amount of "fucks" and I have never heard of a PG-13 version. IMDB lists it as R and so does the MPAA for "Rated R for strong violence and language, some sexuality and drug use." http://www.filmratings.com/search.html?filmTitle=Bulletproof&x=-1068&y=-41Quotes: Archie Moses: In actuality, I was hitting on her harder than you think, motherfucker! So why don't you step the fuck back before I bitch slap your fucking heiney! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115783/trivia?tab=qt&ref_=tt_trv_quI looked at Wikipedia too and the director seems to be wrong or talking about a tv edit or something. Look at the poster: Also the L.A. Times piece cited on Wikipedia also notes the films R rating and the quote from the director on Wikipedia is unsourced. http://articles.latimes.com/1996-09-06/entertainment/ca-40891_1_adam-sandler-and-damon-wayans

Re: Bulletproof (1996)
I just saw the theatrical a few days ago, and it had about 3 fucks which was the limit at the time 3-5 depending on the context. I have also seen a making of documentary from there with a lot of scenes not even in the film. I remember seeing a tamed TV version, years earlier with about 6 scenes not there. I agree that it was released R, but watching the theatrical, I was saying to myself some really good scenes are missing (Wayans at the hotel, with the girl, rehab, Sandler on the beach with the Captain, etc)
At very most, its a very weak R as is.
