The Early Bird is a 1965 British comedy film directed by Robert Asher and starring Norman Wisdom. It also featured Edward Chapman, Bryan Pringle, Richard Vernon, John Le Mesurier and Jerry Desmonde. It was the first Norman Wisdom film to be shot in colour. The title is taken from the expression "the early bird catches the worm".

The Early Bird
Seeing Norman in colour is great. Back when I watched his movies a lot, the VHS's of his b/w movies weren't yet transferred into colour, so this was still the only "big" one of his to be so. Love the movie. The opening sequence is my favourite part where he's asleep and doing the morning chores. It's just something that we all feel like in the morning. Expertly choreographed by Wisdom, and very funny. Everything else about the small man versus the corporate power of Consolidated Dairies is just a platform for comedy gold.
I salute Norman as the king of slapstick.
