I saw this at a free screening a free weeks ago and I really enjoyed it. The entire cast looks like they were having fun, with the stand outs being the hilarious Asian girl and Fat Amy. It was incredibly enjoyable.

8/10

Pitch Perfect is likely the most fun movie of the year so far, a cheeky, snarky, musically bouncy delight. I just looooved it. The cast is perfect: Anna Kendrick is incredibly appealing as usual, Anna Camp and Brittany Snow play uptight and mellow (respectively) well, Skylar Astin is adorable, and Rebel Wilson finally gets the proper vehicle to display her hilarity after Bridesmaids. It's like Bring It On meets Glee (before it sucked), and I enjoyed the hell out of myself. A-

Loved it! Rebel Wilson indeed "crushed it" and was by far the most hilarious. I hate all singing shows and especially Glee, but this was very enjoyable. My only issue was that the ending seemed a bit too quick (despite being almost 2 hours long).

B+

A great time at the movies. Rebel Wilson is hilarious and it's really just a fun, clever flick. Elizabeth Banks also had some really funny lines.

An infectiously fun and hilarious crowd-pleaser. Anna Kendrick delivers a star-making performance, her best since her Oscar-nominated turn in Up In The Air, and Rebel Wilson steals every one of her scenes. I also loved Elizabeth Banks and the quiet girl, and found the male lead very likable. The script is very well-written and full of clever dialogue and laugh-out-loud moments. And the musical numbers are a blast. Easily one of the best comedies I've seen so far this year, and should definitely become a new staple of the teen film genre. A-

Admittedly I've only seen fifteen minutes while working, but the raves for this are hilarious. At best it's easy A, not fucking mean girls or bridesmaids or something.

Exactly. If they don't know how to behave, and feel OK offending others, they get their ass kicked, so they'll think next time before opening their rotten mouths.

Easy A is ridiculously better than Mean Girls.

You act like being as good as Easy A is a bad thing. I do prefer Mean Girls and Bridesmaids though, but all are awesome comedies.

I love Easy A but *nothing* is ridiculously better than Mean Girls. Nothing. Mean Girls is the best anything.

I think Easy A is a much funnier film and it's overall better than Mean Girls, though I love both.

I just watched this with my boyfriend. It was even better the second time and he actually loved it as well, which is kind of shocking because the whole musical thing isn't usually his bag. It's so much fun and I can't wait to buy it.

Post Re: Pitch Perfect
I've never particularly cared much for most shows/movies that featured high school/college students as the main characters. The big exception is when they are comedies/dramadies and it is a kind of humor that I like (i.e. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Popular, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Saved by the Bell, etc.).

I didn't find Pitch Perfect funny. I didn't find the creepy, weird Asian girl funny. I just thought it stretched any semblance of logic that they would want her in their group.

I did like the musical numbers for the most part and the male lead was likable. I also liked that the Breakfast Club movie played a part in the plot. That movie was one of the best high school movies that I've ever seen. John Hughes definitely was "the king of teen movies".

Grade – C

Have you seen Easy A? If you are a huge fan of Hughes, I'm sure you'd love it. It is honestly the best teen film in years.

Les Miserables might be nominated for Best Picture (and easily be the worst of the nominees), but Pitch Perfect is the best musical of the year, and as I've said many times on here before...I hate musicals. It's also, quite surprisingly, one of the funniest movies of the year.
