Re: Celeste and Jesse Forever
This was a nice little film. The film spends a little bit too much time on Celeste but Rashida Jones is able to hold up the character. Samberg is probably the best performance in the film. He pulls in a great mix of comedy and drama and this is going to help him going on post-SNL. Elijah Wood and Emma Roberts are strong supporting characters here as well.

I loved it, although it is kind of forgettable. Really enjoyed Jones and I laughed a lot.

Re: Celeste and Jesse Forever
This is a beautifully intimate and funny/sad film that, despite some issues with pacing, is one of the year's freshest films at this point. This film was obviously a labor of love for Rashida Jones, who aside from co-writing the screenplay, is a luminous screen presence. She shares an unforced chemistry with a surprisingly restrained Andy Samberg, and Celeste and Jesse's relationship is certainly easy to buy. I really liked the melancholy mood of the movie (although I could have done without the Emma Roberts subplot, which feels a bit extraneous). I hope Jones continues to make more movies like this. A-

I wouldn't mind seeing it again though. Oh, and I liked the Emma Roberts sub-plot, one of the songs that her character sang was one of my biggest laughs.

I liked the idea of her character (i.e. a Ke$ha clone) and her scenes related to Celeste's job were fine, I just wasn't sure the couple of scenes with her and Celeste bonding really added anything to the movie. Not a big deal though.

Re: Celeste and Jesse Forever
It definitely wasn't as great as I was expecting and it was actually quite disappointing. (500) Days of Summer or Like Crazy this wasn't. It had moments of wit and charm but the majority of the film was just dull. The Emma Roberts subplot was horrid. Like... Seriously. There was no point in that whole bit and it dragged it down considerably. Still, it had two good, at moments even great lead performances and I really enjoyed the soundtrack.
6/10

Re: Celeste and Jesse Forever
I loved this. I thought it was very truthful. It's quite humorous but also sad and hopeful. Rashida Jones is just superb here. The best she's ever been. She's a huge reason the movie works so well. I also really liked Andy Samberg, Chris Messina, and Elijah Wood. I loved that they weren't afraid to show Celeste as a flawed individual. Even when she hit rock bottom I still felt for her. I thought there were some great moments here. Highly enjoyed this film!
A friend of mine is recently divorced and having a hard time with it as she still has feelings for her ex. I'll definitely recommend this film to her.
8/10 (A-)

Re: Celeste and Jesse Forever
I'd like to see it again. Rating could possibly bump up to a 9/10 on second viewing. Rashida Jones was seriously impressive here.
