American Reunion
American ReunionQuote: American Reunion (also known as American Pie: Reunion in certain countries[3]) is a 2012 comedy film written and directed by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg. It is the eighth installment in the American Pie film series and the fourth in the original series of American Pie (1999), American Pie 2 (2001) and American Wedding (2003). The film was theatrically released on April 5 (Australia and Asia Pacific) and April 6 (North America), 2012. It is due for release in Europe late April/early May 2012. Grade: A-It really comes down to how you feel about the other three. I'm a sucker for them, and this is both funnier than the others and a bit more heartfelt. It runs a little bit long but makes up for it through the sheer number of major laughs.

AMERICAN REUNION
Watch it at a screening last week and if you liked the past films then you should enjoy this one. Stiffler gets annoying as shell really fast but there are a few or at least a couple very funny moments that had the great audience reaction. There's also a nice clip at the end too. I also liked the ending credits with their photos. I remember watching the first AP and damn...that was a while ago.

Re: American Reunion
21 Jump Street so beat this movie to the punch. The handling of "a couple older dudes who thought they were cool pitted against today's high school youth" here is toothless and way less inspired compared to Street.

Re: American Reunion
Oh, and how forced was Shannon Elizabeth's cameo? Came out of nowhere. Went nowhere. At least the Sherminator's tiny bit tied in with an earlier gag.

Re: American Reunion
American Reunion is basically the movie equivalent of comfort food. There's something familiar and comfortable about seeing all of these characters again. It's nowhere near as funny as the first film was, but it's probably on par with American Pie 2 and American Wedding. B

Re: American Reunion
I really expected this to be whatever compared to the other three but it was actually hilarious. Obviously not classic like the first, but in terms of laughs, it's right up there.

Re: American Reunion
Second best of the series. Consistently funny and it was good to see the whole cast back once again. John Cho was particularly hilarious. ***

Re: American Reunion
Hey, ya wanna hear something funny? I was just complaining about the inconsistency in 21 Jump Street when all of a sudden, it comes time to write an American Reunion review, and danged if the story and characters don't turn out to be supraconsistent! American Reunion is almost (gaaacckk!!) ...inspiring. That wouldn't be so bad, but it majorly cuts in on the madfunnytime ®. This heartwarming reunion needs way more low comedy yuks to truly be a sequel. Still, I gotta admire it's consistency. 12 out of 5. {Easily 3rd best in the feature series, after the original (in 2nd place), and American Wedding (in 1st).}

Re: American Reunion
They're back. The "funny" isn't, but they're back nonetheless. It starts off well enough and then it completely falls off the rails and just stops being funny. The biggest laughs are in the first scene and the last scene. It's just the 100 minutes in the middle... And I'm a big fan of the other three films so this one comes as a tremendous disappointment.
I knew it stopped working for me when I became interested in Chris Klein's receding hairline more than anything else. Someone's pulling a Brendan Fraser. And how is his character famous again? He hosts a sports show, danced in a celebrity dance show, and he's dating a model (hello Katrina Bowden), but how did he become a celebrity again? Is lacrosse that popular in the AP world?
*½ (C-)
This just sucked.
And lists!
American Pie - **** (A-) American Wedding - *** (B) American Pie 2 - *** (B) American Reunion - *½ (C-)

Re: American Reunion
I quite liked this. Its probably a little more serious in parts than the others and does carry a sense of "those days are gone - we have grown-up problems now" but it works as a whole and is indeed quite funny. I think I enjoyed seeing the gang back together more so than the actual humour. I thought Chris Klien shone more here than the 1st two films. Stiffler was as good as always. The cameos were good except for Shannon Elizabeth, surely they could have given here something better than the last minute walk on hehe.
Grade A-
I'd rank the films as:
AP1 AP3 AP4 AP2

Re: American Reunion
Took me by surprise. Kinda loved it and I didn't like the series all that much.
It was just enough of everything to make it come together. Light, breezy, funny. Really enjoyed it.

Re: American Reunion
Lol the film is more of a drive down memory lane of the past films... However it was good fun and seeing all the characters was great. Funniest part goes to Stifler getting his revenge on Finch!!! I did not realize this but American Pie 1 real made the term Milf Popular...

Meh. It was decent. My least favorite of the series (not including the Direct-to-DVD spin-offs).
