Skateland is a very enjoyable and effective coming-of-age film. Newcomer Shiloh Fernandez pulls in a good performance and works great alongside co-star Ashley Greene (who like a couple of her Twilight co-stars, Robert Pattinson and Anna Kendrick will probably get solid acting roles after the franchise). The plot runs a bit typical and cliché-esque, but there are a couple of shocks and surprises that keep the film going. Also, the 80’s backdrop was a nice touch. ***

I thought it was decent, if nothing new. I agree about the 80's setting. I dug it.
