Apollo 18
Apollo 18Quote: Apollo 18 is a 2011 American science fiction horror film directed by Gonzalo López-Gallego and produced by Timur Bekmambetov. The film's premise is that the officially canceled Apollo 18 mission was actually launched in December 1974 but never returned, and as a result the United States has never launched another expedition to the Moon. The film is shot in a mockumentary found-footage style, supposedly of the lost footage of the Apollo 18 mission that was only recently discovered. The film is López-Gallego's first English-language film.
After various release date changes, the film was released in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada on September 2, 2011; however, the release dates for other territories vary.

I dunno, I found it decently effective, even if it ultimately goes nowhere. Definitely needed a better monster, though, or at least explain the one they had.

Apollo 18
Not my type of film really. I adore these hand-held camera films like Paranormal Activity, but this was too low budget of a production, and pretty much nothing happened. I needed the camera work to be more steady and show more scary shit. It's a shame because the story could have made a cracking film. At the very least, the director stuck to his guns and only showed footage that could have been caught by the astronauts' cameras.
The aliens were kind of a cool idea if only we could see what they hell they were. The big money shots were not special and hidden behind amateur camera work.
