I watched an hour of this tonight. Couldn't finish it. SO bad. It tries for a Frighteners/Hellboy style blend of action, comedy, and horror, but every element is so beyond mediocre. The production values, despite a reportedly healthy budget of at least $20 million, are bargain basement. Despite being set in -New Orleans-, there is no atmosphere, and the creatures, with their contact lenses and Walmart Halloween costumes, aim for old school, but shoot past it and land in laughable. Brandon Routh, who I wish I could root for because of my love of Superman Returns, is deadly dull here. His nearly nonstop narration...yawn. There was one halfway decent sequence, set in a literal "body shop" frequented by zombies in need of parts, but it's over quickly, and the tedium resumes. Had I seen this in theatres (Christ...), chances are I would have stayed to the end, but at home--life is too short.

I watched this at a friend's house. Can't say I gave it my full attention, but I didn't find it terrible, just mediocre.

Yeah this film is really bad. All the vampire/werewolf looks and actions are laughable and poorly written. The visuals are nothing really and the story just gets dry. I feel bad for Brandon Routh. 1/2*

Funny, when I watched this recently, I was excited by the premise and the opening minutes, hoping for a fun horror/comedy hybrid. Well, it was none of those things for the entire hour and 20 minutes I made through. I'm not one to turn off a movie, but I couldn't help it. The whole thing plays out like one long, tedious scene. There are never jumps in excitement, no lapses into despair. It's just a single-note film, with one track and no ability to wow the audience. How can something with so much potential fail on so many levels.

D- (hate grading it when I didn't finish it, but unless the film perks up in its final 20 minutes, I'm sure it still sucks)
