One of the best teenage comedies ever made! I loved all of the characters, and the movie was hysterical. There's tons of funny one liners, and I really liked all of the music used in this movie. It's easily one of my favorite movies of the 90's.

A) She doesn't marry him
B) He's not her stepbrother considering their parents are no longer married

I have fond memories of this baby.
I came across Clueless during the Blizzard of '96. I was 7. We had some movies around, and, well, it was impossible to return them. I couldn't hold it. I needed something to do and I had already watched Cinderella, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and The Lion King 50+ times. I popped Clueless into the VCR...
Granted, I didn't understand much. I revisited Clueless when I was a tad bit older, renting it at the local grocery because, well, nothing else looked appealing. I've since caught it more often on television. It gets the same amount of appreciation every single time.
So, why is Clueless good? Well, let's take a look at the 90s. Clueless is one movie often mentioned with other teen movies, like, 10 Things I Hate About You, She's All That, Can't Hardly Wait, Jason Biggs' cash-ins following American Pie, and American Pie itself. Clueless is the original, though. And, the original is better. Clueless, unlike the (mostly) sad imitations, focuses on one character. The movie is strengthened by supporting characters, but it's really just about Cher. The screenplay's strength lies in the character development. Characters don't pop in out of nowhere without explanations and those characters that remain throughout the movie are smoothly developed. Clueless works as a comedy, a drama, a romance, and, well, a satire. But, the satire is balanced. While often hysterical in its criticism of the rich, careless lifestyle of teens in the California valleys, we're still left with a film that is believable.
Basically, Clueless works for almost any mood. It's memorable, comical, and, hell, even emotionally involving! 'Twas innovative - it set the bar for teen movies while also proving that there WAS a market. It prevails for its focus on one character whom it weaves into almost two hours of fun, satirical moviemaking at its best. It's damn near impossible NOT to enjoy Clueless and it deserves every bit of critical acclaim that it gets.

Why is that weird? They aren't blood related. No relationship at all, except their parents were married before.
Clueless is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, and cemented my eternal crush on Alicia Silverstone.

I really like the movie, though Mean Girls is better. Alicia Silverstone rocks.

I still LMAO when I see the scene where Cher is stranded in the Valley and is disgusted.

Her movies have been not great, but she still is good. Everyone should rent Beauty Shop if they're up to it on a lonely night. I'm serious. She gives, like, her omg possibly best performance ever. As much as I'm a fan of Clueless, and I agree its a much much better movie, shes almost(maybe not its hard to judge) better in this movie. Definitly the best supporting comedic work of the year, and is right up there for comedic period.

I was just watching this earlier, and while I've always enjoyed it, I've never been one of those...well, all of you. :O (no offense)
Anyway, back to the point...I was watching it, and I realized WHY I always enjoy it...its incredibly universal. Considering the type of film, and its setting and such, that's quite an achievement...it could have easily been this dumb-but-funny, shallow, eye-candy, glitzy California girl movie, and while it kinda accomplishes all that on the surface, it manages to resonate with me, an 18yrold male from Florida...I really appreciate it for that.
(for the record, I also watched most of (well, all of over two sittings) mean girls last night, and fell completely the opposite. that movie IS exactly what this one avoids - namely, alienating to people like myself. (among other things.) (but the brunette with curlyish hair was really hot.)

This is like 'ferris bueller' of the mid-90's. There hasn't been a movie like that since.

Just watched this today. Loved it! Every character was just so unique and funny. I was cracking up at everything Cher said. It wasn't unbelievably over-the-top blonde, but just right.
