Re: The Killer Inside Me (2010)
The Killer Inside Me is a weak and desperate psycho drama that has terrible acting and weak dialogue to get it through. The subject of cop turned psycho killer has been used in some ways before, but with the cast at hand seemed interesting. Though even with the likes of Casey Affleck, Jessica Alba, and Kate Hudson the film still is fairly flat. Affleck doesn't show any of his acting chops like some of his previous films and just seems too desperate the entire time to get out his cocky attitude. Alba and Hudson's sexual nature is overused in the film and they work too hard on their accents to be unwilling to root for with the runtime. The film screams at times how the viewer should just enjoy looking at all the sex and violence they can put in while not concentrating on story. The film also tries to build up mystery that isn't even needed since the viewer knows everything that previously happened. Add in an over-the-top ending and this piece is a wreck. One of the only things working for it was scenery and filming but a good film needs to be incorporated into these to work. *

Re: The Killer Inside Me
Affleck is terrific, but the whole thing feels redundant and rather unnecessary after half a century. The book may have been trail-blazing; this surely ain't.
