Hmm, close to Top Gun on the closeted homosexuality scale.

Yeah, I've mostly known about this as an allegory for the awakening of adolescent homosexuality.

It's also pretty much the ugliest movie ever. Looks like it was shot on dirty toilet paper.

This movie is a hilarious blast to watch because of how homoerotic it is. They say it wasn't intentional but there's no way it wasn't.

Not to mention the hilariousness in the beginning with the "Driver, that was our stop" or when the little girl says, "Daddy, I'm scared" in the most unbelievable way possible.

Good times. Probably one of my favorite "Nightmare" movies just because of these things. It's really fun to watch with friends.

No clue what I'd rate this.

5/10 -> C-

Not horrible, but not good IMO. Besides Freddy it doesn't have a lot to do with the Nightmare series as it's basically not connected in any way. It is never pointed or implied that Jessie is one of the Elm Street children and Freddy has no reason to haunt him, or at least it doesn't mesh well with the logic of the first movie. Just living in the house where Freddy's glove is/was (again the glove was taken from the hiding place in the first movie) hidden is completely unrelated to the first movie.

But as dumb as it is, the kill scenes are imaginative and the effects are pretty good for a relatively cheap 80's flick. I had fun. Plus I love Freddy.

Maybe you saw a copy on dirty toilet paper then as what I saw was a good looking movie for an 80's horror. Better than the copies of Halloween and even more Friday the 13th (which IS the ugliest looking horror series IMO).

The one with the gay kid who's gayness is inexplicably cured when he purges it/Freddy from his system.
