A slick, sexy, polished thriller with great scenery.

Re: Donkey Punch
Great scenery? 95% of the film takes place on a boat...in the middle of the ocean...at night.
Yeah, I didn't like it. Most of the film is spent watching these characters talk. Sure there are a couple of brief moments that are inspired (the flare scene is kind of good), but nothing happens. And then at the end of the film when something does happen, it's only because two specific characters make two really dumb mistakes which only happened because the writer had no idea how to write themselves out of what they started. Kim (at least I think that's her name), with the short dark hair, makes quite possibly the dumbest mistake I've seen someone make in any kind of film in any genre. And her reasoning just makes it flat out worse. The only reason why she does it, is so that the writer can write what happens to her next. She's just one less person to worry about. And then what happens next to close out the film is just....
I'll give the film a tiny bit of credit in one aspect. It's more focused on what the characters have to say and their motivations than on the gore. It's just that the characters don't say anything interesting. This is about as boring a thriller as you could possibly ask for.

But outside of the boat, during the day, there's great scenery . I guess it just stood out for me because I'm a sucker for this sort of location.

Meh. Kind of dull. Lesbian Vampire Killers was another retarded film. So cheesy and wtf? Yeah. Hot Fuzz still owns.

Re: Donkey Punch
i rented this because it's so hard to find something to rent at blockbuster.
i enjoyed the softcore. then we had lots of chattering about what to do. boat gets turned around and girls are harassed by a psycho male who gets trumped by a silent inner psycho and almost everyone dies, so it leaves you with a happy note in the end which was a plus.

A mean sexy little flick. The young cast does pretty well, though there are a lot of rather dumb decisions made by the film's characters (then again, without them, a film like this would not exist). I liked the way the whole thing unraveled. It's not outstanding, but a good way to kill 90 minutes since never, for a second, does it get boring.

Re: Donkey Punch
It's nothing great but it's an entertaining, sexy thriller. Better than most. I definitely recommend it.
