B+
Will Smith gives another very good performance. Like Munky said the second half is a lot stronger than the first half of the movie. But then again I would prefer a movie end strong than limp to the finish line.

There would have to be about seven pounds of heroin in my brain before I ever agreed to see this.

I meant I would prefer a movie that starts of slow but then ends really well in comparison to a movie that starts strong and ends weakly

Re: Seven Pounds
A rather odd and dramatically unsatisfying film. I was annoyed by how long this movie took to reveal its "mystery," considering most people in the audience will probably guess it correctly within the first 20 minutes. Essentially, it thinks it's smarter than it actually is. Case in point, Seven Pounds is seemingly told in a non-linear fashion because if it weren't, viewers would realize it doesn't really make all that much sense. Director Gabriele Muccino (of the far, far superior The Pursuit of Happyness) has stripped Will Smith of nearly all of his likable qualities, both making Ben a difficult person to spend an entire movie focusing on and leading to Smith delivering one of the most lifeless performances of his career. The only time Smith seems comfortable in this role are during some of his scenes with the beguiling Rosario Dawson, who is easily the best thing about the movie. They have a fair bit of chemistry and make some of the low-key romantic moments work, and Dawson is wonderful in a role that probably would've been as uninteresting as Smith's character in the hands of a lesser actress. Meh. C-

I managed to get through half of it before my willpower collapsed. I'd rather preform a tracheotomy on myself with a spoon then attempt to finish it.

I'm not sure it's still a walkout if you're watching it pirated on your monitor. Then it's just common sense.

What the fuck, Padraig?
I was honestly under the impression you never went to the cinemas. And then you do. For this?
But bonus points for not being afraid to leave a movie you paid to see. That's bad ass.

The fact I liked even Wild Wild West suggests my love of Smith is perhaps deep and scary!........................but this thing.
