Why has Michael Keaton not become a bigger star after Batman and now has to star in C-grade movies like this one? I'm not even sure how to begin describing this film. Suffice to say that Keaton plays a workaholic investigating suspiciously large money transfers through the bank he's working for. He somehow uncovers an organized crime group that specialized in sex slaves trade and then framed by them for a murder. Michael Caine's unsuccessful actor is used by the group as well as they make him think they're investing money into his new project, whereas it's used for money laundry.

So much for the movie that claims to be an action film, but doesn't sport even one good action scene. Michael Keaton is okay in the leading role, but mostly sleepwalks through it. The villains are as lame and unfrightening as they get. Only Michael Caine seems to inject some life into this. There are a couple of suspenseful moments and a pretty well-done resoluton. However that doesn't take away from the movie's weird pacing, run-of-the-mill story and terrble attempts at some character development for Keaton.
