Quote:
The Matrix: Revolutions is a 2003 American science fiction film and the third and final installment of The Matrix trilogy. The film was released six months following The Matrix Reloaded. The film was written and directed by the Wachowski brothers and released simultaneously in sixty countries on November 5, 2003. Despite the fact that it is the final film in the series, the Matrix storyline continued in The Matrix Online.

The film was the first live-action film to be released in both regular and IMAX movie theaters at the same time. The Wachowskis were present in Tokyo at the opening of the movie, as were stars Jada Pinkett Smith and Keanu Reeves.

this is my favorite one of the sequels!
the battle with the machines is so awsome!!
The FX are great!
and as well as Reloaded, boring moments
and that final battle in the rain, was ridiculous and stupid how they fight while flying!

The Matrix Revolutions - A

Brilliant movie, better than the first, second, animated, game and any other type of Matrix spin off. It rules!

By the time the third film was released, The Matrix had lost is glamour. It had, in the course of one film -- The Matrix Reloaded -- desceneded from sheer brilliance to mediocre summer action fair. The third film however returned the series to some of its original quality. While far from the brilliance of the first film, it still a good film, and a fitting conclusion to the trilogy.

7.5/10 (B+)

I'm a fan, but it's easily the weakest of the series.

I would just like to start this off, that I am a Matrix fanboy. I loved Matrix and Reloaded. However,...

Reloaded left the door wide open for a great action movie (that is all the Matrix trilogy is, I hate it when people make it more than it is) and instead the squashed any thing with this crappy movie. Instead of having characters we cared about like Neo, Trinity or Morpheus take up screen time we have people in Zion fighitng the machines which was just in the movie to show special effects, ugghhhh...HORRIBLE MOVIE.

A perfect example of people getting set up with the highest of standards, and no possibly of being satisfied. I thought this movie was bloody great! I think if anyone has that much of a problem with this and/or Reloaded, they should re-write the scripts as what they wanted from the film.

Grade: A-

It is a good movie by itself, but by far and away the worst of the Matrix franchise which is really disappointing because after the second movie which has already disappointed me a bit, I really hoped for a masterpiece of a conclusion to make up for the second film. In hindsight, the second movie is actually great, the third isn't. What shall I say about it? It is well-made and technically perfect. The visual effects are top-notch as always, the Zion attack is well-made and the Super-Brawl is amazing. Overall, though, the film is very predictable with little suspense.

I loved The Matrix and The Matrix Reloaded. The great scenes were always in the matrix. This movie lacked that.

Same here. I certainly don't understand all of the hate for this. Reloaded left me bored in some parts, but this film had me entertained throughout, and I thought the visuals were spectcular.

A dreadful end to the Matrix franchise. The Zion sections ie. 75% of the movie were horribly written and cliched while the Matrix parts were criminally underused. The odd flash of the old Matrix brilliance like the brief burst thru the clouds and the vision of the sun still poke thru but otherwise its a shoddy affair. And the ending is a real joke it just petters out.

Obscenely bad. All plot is dropped in favor of the most boring major action setpiece in film history.

Matrix Revolutions: A Trilogy Redeemed!

I coulda sworn I'd posted my review for this one before...

As someone who was most definitely not a fan of Reloaded, I now find myself in love with the final episode of the trilogy:

Revolutions Rocks!

For all those who droned on about how Reloaded was just too darn intelligent and sophisticated for those who, in fact, simply didn't like it. Well, doesn't Revolutions come along and show what an actual intelligent movie looks like and how jumbled and illogical Reloaded really was. This one does a fine job of balancing the philosophy and action, and you could once again care about whether the characters live or die. Plus they upped the comedy ratio, tweaking the bittersweet mix just right. This is the one true sequel that the original Matrix deserved. It will become a new classic in the sci-fi genre.

I want to see it again (soon!), unlike the turgid turd named Reloaded.

8 out of 5.

{PS: I was also pleasantly surprised that the Wachowski Brothers used Revolutions to provide a rare showcase for the noble role a skillful wheelbarrowman can play in the world -- Bravo...}
