It's about a girl and her little sister, who get lost in some Australian desert and end up following this Aboriginal kid on his "walkabout", which is the thing that makes you an adult in Australia.
Anyway, there's a ton of cool images and sounds and music. They walk around killing animals and climbing tress and listening to the radio talk about math. The younger brother gets all sunburnt up and the black kid wipes blood on his back. There's a car on fire that a group of the natives play around in, putting each other in the trunk and stuff. A white man has a bunch of the naked black women working for him building plaster sculptures, painting and moving them.
It starts out with a group of girls in a singing class; the camera pans across all these uniformed females panting and humming and moaning like in a trance.
It's a pretty great movie...it kinda toes the line between epic drama and surreal satire. Lots of man v nature and nature v urban commentary. Lots of sexual, erotic kinda playfulness. Lots of pretty pictures of mountains and run down machinery and stuff.
