One of my all-time favorite movies. Fantastic movie with great performances all around with a great score. Worthy second effort by Frank Darabont.

A+

I like the way Darabont shoots his movies. Shawshank was a masterpiece and even The Majestic was really good and unjustifiedly bad-mouthed. To me Green Mile was his weakest outing, which isn't a bad thing though. It was a bit over-spiritual and dragged at times. (B-)

Very good movie. Everyone gives a good performance and I don't 'felt' the length which is a big plus. Heartwarming movie. A

Darabont hit another home-run with this movie. A great story and a breakout performance by that lovable teddy-bear Michael Clarke Duncan.

This movie is an underappreciated masterpiece. It is, by far and away, the best prison movie I have ever seen (beating out The Shawshank Redemption) and one of the very few movies that almost made me cry.

It is technically great (superb cinematography and editing, the movie never drags despite 3+ hours running time) and the story is amazing. The Green Mile is probably the finest adaptation of a Stephen King novel thus far and what a great movie it is by itself! The acting is great. Tom Hanks is incredibe, as always, but it's Michael Clarke Duncan who stands out of the cast. Without a shadow of doubt, he deserved the Best Supporting Actor trophy back in 2000. What a shame that he didn't win.

I agree that the story was very sentimental at times, but it worked for me and so did the occasional clichées. It is a touching movie with a great message and an involving story. The best thing of all is that it doesn't lose any of its greatness even after numerous viewings.

To put it in a nuthsell, it is an excellent film and ranks in my all-time Top 25.

This is a fantastic movie! It's also, I believe, the saddest movie ever made. I was in tears at the end, it was just so emotional!

Just watched it again and I loved it more than ever. Everybody is just perfect here (Sam Rockwell deserved more praise for his part than he got) and the story is great. I was involved the whole time and was actually a bit sad that it didn't last a bit longer. I think I even like this a tad more than Shawshank and that's quite a feat. A+

It's way too long and kinda hokey, but it still gets me every time. Even though it's basically just Shawshank redux.

I recalled this as a great film, but I didn't see it for maybe 20 years and watched it again. Such a treat and great film, love it. It's hella long, but it never feels like it, a strong and gripping story that keeps me hooked with memorable characters. I forgot Rockwell was in it, but he's just so good and menacing too. A powerfully emotional film which locked itself among my all time favs.

I always loved this and Shawshank Redemption. The emotional scenes are definitely powerful and hit really hard and its even sadder now that Michael Clark Duncan is no longer with us. Frank Darabont is such a talented filmmaker and it really is a shame that he isn't directing more films these days.
