Quote:
The Crow is a 1994 American action film of the 1989 comic book of the same name by James O'Barr. The film was written by David J. Schow and John Shirley, and directed by Alex Proyas., and starring Brandon Lee, in his final film, as Eric Draven, a rock musician who is revived from the dead to avenge his own murder, as well as that of his fiancée.

While filming during the last weeks of production, Lee was mortally wounded when a dummy bullet, which had become lodged in one of the prop guns, was shot into his abdomen by a blank cartridge. The film was a critical and commercial success after its release, opening at the top of the box office.

Amazing cult film. Very dark, very gritty and yet very stylish at the same time. It is very rewatchable and the action really gets at its best in this one. Brandon Lee was a perfect choice for the lead. Not even the bad sequels can ruin the reputation of this one.

I love this film. It's a really good revenge flick. Brandon Lee did phenomenal, and the action scenes are really good. I've always liked this film since the first time I saw it.

My least favorite of Alex Proyas' Sci-fi movies. In other words it's one of my favorite Sci-fi movies of all time. ;)

8.5/10

Another great masterpiece by Alex Proyas. I dont know if the movie would of gotten any recognition if Brandon Lee didnt die, I was able to look beyond that and see a movie that reminded me of Blade Runner

Pretty good Sci-fi film, but I wouldn't call it 'A' material.

Guys, it's not sci-fi. It's more of a fantasy/horror noir.

It's also pretty good, but not anywhere near Dark City. Brandon Lee makes it worth it, and the visuals are impressive, but it doesn't cover any new territory.

Also, how odd is it that Lee looks just like Ledger as the Joker (well, vice versa, I suppose)? They should probably stop using that makeup mould; it seems to be bad luck.

I also don't see how anyone can name it sci-fi? Where's the science part of it?

I liked it, it's a decent revenge film, even it's plot wise just not very different than plenty of others. While it adds superhero and neo-noir (which im generally not really a fan of) elements it doesn't excel in those or other departments either. Brandon Lee is solid as the lead, and I liked the villains characters too. It was also great how The Cure's Burn is featured in this, a song I not too long ago discovered and got to appreciate. The film is dark, in story and also the way it's shot, it supposed to add to it's style and dramatic effect, but it just didn't really got to me like that. The revenge kills are cool, and it's a good film overall, but a bit overhyped too I feel.
