On Golden PondQuote: On Golden Pond is a 1981 American drama film directed by Mark Rydell. The screenplay by Ernest Thompson was adapted from his 1979 play of the same title.
Henry Fonda won the Academy Award for this, his final film role. Co-star Katharine Hepburn also received an Oscar, as did Thompson for his script.
The film co-stars Jane Fonda, Dabney Coleman and Doug McKeon. It had 10 Academy Award nominations.

two legends together equals magical performance.
Katherine Hepburn was never the prettiest of them of all, but she was commanding.
Henry Fonda is just the good old jolly man he has always been.

shocking thing is that in 1981 it grossed almost 290 million dollars in todays money!

Pretty awesome. Hepburn and both Fonda's give wonderful performances. It reminds me of my grandma's home on the lake, which probably gives it a little more meaning for me.

Enjoyable drama. Despite taking the easy way out in terms of redeeming Norman without him having to do too much work for it, Fonda and Hepburn both deserve their Oscars and the pond is beautiful
