Three Kings
Three KingsQuote: Three Kings is a 1999 satirical war film written and directed by David O. Russell from a story by John Ridley about a gold heist that takes place during the 1991 Iraqi uprising against Saddam Hussein following the end of the first Persian Gulf War.
The plot is somewhat similar to the one of 1970 war film Kelly's Heroes, starring Clint Eastwood, Donald Sutherland and Telly Savalas, among others. This film is set in World War II, with the Nazis as the enemies. Towards the end of the movie, there is an alliance with a German officer, to steal the gold.
The film stars George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg, Ice Cube and Spike Jonze. Film critic Roger Ebert described it as a "weird masterpiece, a screw-loose war picture that sends action and humor crashing head-on into each other and spinning off into political anger."

An awesome war film with great direction, a relavent theme, some unexpectedly strong wit and humor, and great performances all around.

It's quite good. Good dark humor, neat action and a message. Though some stuff was too unrealistic even for me.

Re: Three Kings
A very good and very entertaining war film. It does a good job balancing the two sides - Satricial farce and actual heartfelt message. In terms of political criticism, it's one of the better films of the type. The acting is also pretty great all around, and again, I was never bored. Not much more to say.
3.5/5

Re: Three Kings
The satire is really good, but it stumbles a bit with the heavy-handed drama. It would've been better staying light and sharp.
