What?? No midnight showing's of this??? I could've sworn the screen/crowd report had several midnight showing's of this movie..

None that anyone here seems to have seen, anyway. I'm seeing it tomorrow night along with Running with Scissors and Marie Antoinette.

I don't know if it's the best Saw film, but... it's very good. More like Saw than Saw II in terms of tone (serious, with less of a "carnival house of horrors" feel). The end is intense, but emotionally as opposed to 'Ohmygod, the trap!'. The relationship between Jigsaw and Amanda is fascinating. When the credits rolled, nobody got up for a second and I heard someone behind me say, "Ho. Ly. Shit."

I agree, although I hated the first Saw. The Jigsaw/Amanda relationship is very good and not just glossed over. The third film here has easily the best plot of the three. The kid element is heartbreaking, which leads to an even more heart-wrenching ending.

Another thing the third film does really well is tie up the loose points from the last two films, especially in the first film with Jigsaw lying on the floor. I also liked the brief appearances by Donnie Wahlberg.

Is this the final saw film? Where do you go from here? Is Jigsaw actually dead? Was it a decoy? Or will the next film be made up of copycats? From a quality point of view, I'd get out now if I were the filmmakers now. They wrapped up everything nicely here. I think anything without the actual person who played Jigsaw would just be a waste of time.

This was hands down the best Saw film, and one of the best thrillers of the year.

One thing did bug me though. The poster had a picture of three teeth? Where was the teeth pulling?

This was my first Saw film. Ho. Ly. Shit. Indeed. I can't believe there is an audience for tripe like this. Someone please explain to me what is fascinating about watching a man explode from inside, a woman have her rib cage ripped inside out, a man drowning in pureed pig, or seeing a woman freeze to death? This is just sick. Absolutely no skill in writing, acting, direction, or entertainment.

Agree with everything BKB said above. The film was brilliant! I'm in awe of the writing talent of Whannell. How he continues to come up with the twists he does along with plots that keep the franchise fresh is amazing. Every 'Saw' film has a distinctly different feeling which is amazing when you think about it. Sure, they all have the rapid-fire editing that I could do without (or at least toned down) but while this is indeed more similar to Saw 1 than 2, it still has a different feeling which is even more amazing when you consider that the same director did 2 and 3.

Best franchise out there right now. Period. Far fresher than Spider-Man and other more high-profile franchises, and done on far, far smaller budgets.

HOLY SHIT. I'm still feeling that 30 minutes after the film finished. Seriously, what an intense rollercoaster of a ride. At the end, I was almost disappointed because I thought the film made it a little too obvious, but HOLY. That last three minutes of the film just rocked. Twist after twist after twist, all coming together. And for the rest of the film? I'm still trying to get over it. I'm not one to really feel sick while watching these types of films, but the surgery... WHOA. The film pushed it over the limit. I thought I've seen it all in the previous two films, but somehow, these people just keep coming up with these unique twists and brilliant death sequences, like it was all planned out from the filming of Saw (as BKB said earlier, it just seemed like this is how they envisioned the series going). Jigsaw's "favorite" tool is definitely the craziest thing I've ever seen. EVER. I know this film is a straight A, but honestly, I can't rank any of the Saw films over one another. Each film brings a unique style to the table and once you put it all together, it's perfect.

Alright. Saw IV? I doubt it. With Jigsaw and Amanda both dead (I mean, he HAS to be dead... there's no way he survived), there's nothing left in this series. If another one releases, I guess it'll be a copycat of sorts, but I'll be pretty upset if that happens. This IS one of the best, if not the best, trilogies ever.

I give this movie a B-. For some reason this film seemed to lack purpose and the ending was not as wow worthy as the last two. Also, for some reason I seem to like it when there's a group. And the gorey parts at the beginning were good, but too close to eachother and too gratuitious. The gorey parts at the end were not that exhilirating.

I thought it wasn't planned as a trilogy. Just a happy accident.

Better acted and written than the first two (which doesn't really say much) and it was nice to see some interaction between Jigsaw, Amanda, and the two main victims, Lynn and Jeff. It was also a nice touch to add what really happened behind the scenes during pivotal Saw I and Saw II moments. Fun but still technically inept and predictable.

A franchise is a franchise is a franchise. I had more fun watching the Saw films than any comic book film series.

They upped the gore level a bit from the movie but something just does jive when Jigsaw accuses Amanda of murdering victims that dont deserve it yet Jigsaw engineers the whole game about the drunk driver where there were quite a few not so deserving victims like the scared witness and judge that was chosen as his pawns. It just doesnt make that much sense
