Trailer Park Boys: The Movie
Trailer Park Boys: The MovieQuote: Trailer Park Boys: The Movie, also known as The Big Dirty and simply Trailer Park Boys, is a 2006 Canadian comedy film based on the hit television series Trailer Park Boys. The film follows characters Ricky, Julian and Bubbles creating a plan for The Big Dirty, a crime that will see them able to retire from crime. The film, like the series, was directed and produced by Mike Clattenburg, with Ivan Reitman as an executive producer. It was released in Canada on October 6, 2006, and a limited release in the United States began on January 25, 2008. It has developed into a cult film since then. It received an American rating of R by the MPAA for "pervasive language, sexual content/nudity and drug content."

C-
Really disappointing. I guess I wasn't expecting it to be so much a dramedy, they weren't even attempting any laughs here. In a way you could support them for differentiating from the show and trying to make a movie about these characters with heart, except that it really really doesn't work here. Trailer Park Boys is too ridiculous for that, it's supposed to be over the top and stupid. Make it serious and it ends up a hugeeee mess, because basically it becomes a drama about a bunch of really average greasy people, and it's a humongous bore. TPB is mostly about the laughs, the characters themselves and the storyline of their situation is awful.

YES!!
It's the funniest movie in years, but you have to be down with the Trailer Park Boys humour and know the show to "get" it. Just seeing Bubbles' expressions are enough to evoke fits of laughter and Ricky's creative swearing and screwing up popular phrases is pure genius. Could have used way more J-Roc though.
