C+ seems to be the grade of fit. I liked some of the banter between Clooney and Zeta Jones, but overall a grossly mediocre picture.

HA!!!! I ruined the C+ trend.
I thought it was good film, Clooney was great. Good quirky light humor.

Not great, but I can't bring myself to grade it lower than a B-. Nice humor, great chemistry between Clooney and Zeta Jones, but overall not very memorable or remarkable. B-

I despised this film. It was intolerable.

Well, I pretty much agree with the majority grade here. The movie certainly has its moments and Clooney is as charismatic and cool as ever, but overall it just too incoherent and just...pointless? I'd expect a bit more from the Coens. It's just a very unremarkable romcom. Not conventional, but nothing really groundbreaking either.

Embarassingly bad and I like several Coen bros and think Clooney has evolved into a good leading man. But this film was borderline unwatchable for me. C-

I remember finding this film surprisingly dull, even though Clooney and Zeta-Jones had nearly perfect chemistry.

I liked it. Not my favorite Coen Bros movie, but it was fun, light entertainment.

Re: Intolerable Cruelty
I stayed away from this movie because everyone said it sucked. While having dinner I started watching some movie on TV... The opening scene was hilarious. Imagine my surprise when the titles showed Intolerable Cruelty. I said to myself that if it has at least one more scene half as good as the opening it will be good.
But the movie completely surprised me. A brilliant shout-out to all those classic romantic and screwball comedies.
Not the best Coen film, but certainly not the worst.
9/10 -> A-

Re: Intolerable Cruelty
One of the worst romcoms ive seen. Catherine Zeta Jones is beautiful, but she needs to pick better roles.

Re: Intolerable Cruelty
I remember it being extremely passable. Not a masterpiece or anything remotely close, but smart enough to earn a recomendation.

Re: Intolerable Cruelty
Ehhh all around, nothing about this movie I liked. George and Catherine looked like they were having fun, and there is some nice scenery. Kind of like an artistic train wreck D+

Seriously, this had so much going for it...and fell flat in so many areas.

Re: Intolerable Cruelty
Probably the worst Coens film, though I really don't like Raising Arizona.

You guys are crazy. This movie was great, quirky stuff. Then again, I turned it on with zero expectations.
