Sure the plot is a mess when it isn't ripping off old DePalma movies and David Lynch, among others, especially Hitchcock but it is still lots of fun because DePalma never takes any of it seriously. It also helps that the guy is obviously a skilled filmmaker. He would be a great cinematographer if he ever wanted to stop directing as every film of his is beautiful to behold and this is no different.

Grade - B

Yeah, very stylish, great cinematography, and although I don't really remember the plot anymore, I remember that I liked it. I should watch it again.

7.5/10 - A-

Fantastic. Seriously one of my all time favourites. Nothing has been more surprising to me in my film watching lifetime, everything about Femme Fatale oozes with double meanings and the film is hugely successful in transporting you into the world in which these messed up characters reside.

I loved RRS' fabulously 1950s "femme fatale" performance. She was an antihero with such horrible character traits that we should, by every cinematic standard, have shunned her, but we didn't and thats a sign of good writing.

Youch! - I guess I was expecting something like another Body Double out of DePalma, but no such luck. This one was plenty visually stylish and artsy but hollow to the core in story and characters. I can't imagine who I could recommend it to??

I'm happy for those of you who enjoyed this movie - but for those of you who are planning on seeing it for the "lesbo action and nudity", I would recommend you set your expectations low to avoid disappointment. There certainly is about 5 minutes of that in the film, and without it the film would have been a total washout for me, but there are certainly other Hollywood movies with a higher quality and quantity of both of those commodities.

Has no one seen Body Double? That's a schlocky DePalma movie along these lines, but done right!

2 out of 5.

This was a disaster!

DePalma opens with that footage from Double Indemnity; not a good move. Yes, Mr. DePalma, we'd rather be watching that...

I can't say enough how much I love this movie.
One of those complete surprises. I still remember the night i was decided over this or something really shitty and generic. I went for this just because, and this is quite stupid, but I remember liking the thumbnail poster on BoxOfficeMojo's avatar gallery!

Still, It's so well done. Over the top has never been more gripping, exciting or fufilling.

One more for the lovers boat. :shades:

Stylish, but the great kind of stylish, the one that truly makes us believe that a movie can become a dream. Enough with the deeper meanings... De Palma wants us to have fun, and he succeeded that with me. A brilliant cinematic game, for sure.

I fucking love this film, too. There's just something about it that is amazing. It's so beautiful to look at, and Rebecca gives such an underrated performance. This makes me want to find and watch De Palma's past films, and I hope they're as good as this.

It was on HBO recently and I recorded it. Every time I watch it, I realize something more about the plot. It's a strange movie, and the one time I showed it to someone they fucking hated it, but haters can get AIDS and die at the age of 33 in a hospital bed surrounded by their disappointed family.
