Quote:
She's the Man is a 2006 American/Canadian romantic comedy film directed by Andy Fickman, based on Twelfth Night, a play by William Shakespeare. The film stars Amanda Bynes, Channing Tatum, Laura Ramsey and Vinnie Jones.

The film centers around teenager Viola Hastings who enters her brother's school in his place, pretending to be male, in order to play with the boys' soccer team.

Makeshift and Terminator were so hyped about the movie that they say it opening day and gave it an F  :P

I really liked this movie. I was expecting crap and got somethign that was incredibly funny. For its genre it's really good though it doesnt come as close to teen classics such as She's all That or Bring it On. They loosely followed Twelf Night in terms of plot, but kept the comedy at a high level.

A :)

Movie beat my expectations.

Charming and often amusing. Amanda Bynes has a strong sense of comedic timing and makes the film work. B

Amanda Bynes saved this film. She really has far more talent than either Hilary Duff or Lindsay Lohan.

I saw the commericals for it and it remindes me too much of another version of "White Chicks". It's just too painfully obvious that Amanda Bynes isn't a guy. Maybe if they had hired actors under 30 who weren't underwear models to play her classmates it would have looked more realistic...

For some reason it was actually quite enjoyable. Sure, it was no masterpiece, and it played out more or less like a long music video with a few intermissions thrown in but it worked for what it was. It was nowhere near as enjoyable as 10 Things I Hate About You but it is still good in its own rite. Its no Shakespeare, but its fun. B

fun watch, the first 20-30 minutes of the film is appalling though.

Quite good and funny, considering how it could've turned out. I'll definitly forget the movie by next year, but I liked it.

Amanda Bynes really was the saving grace, she just nailed it. There are a lot of actresses who do romantic comedies, but are usually more on the sweet side than funny. But Bynes, she's different. She's just really funny. Pure comedic actresses don't come along often, she's a shining gem.

Some of it is just howlingly awful, but the film never takes itself seriously, so making fun of it feels a bit futile.

Bynes does have some good comic timing, but although she's supposed to be over-the-top, she tends to overdo it. A lot. She's best when she's not doing the guy schtick, which unfortunately only amounts to about 15 minutes. I also didn't really understand why she thought putting on a weird Southern accent automatically makes one sound like a guy.

I probably wouldn't recommend it, but I laughed a couple times. Maybe even three, or four.

It's fairly inane and silly, but it can be charming at times and it's pretty harmless. Apart from Amanda Bynes' truly annoying performance, nothing is painfully bad. That's not to say it doesn't have its stupid moments, because it does, its just not as bad as it could have been. The plot crosses all kind of barriers regarding logic and plausibility, the characters are pretty one dimensional and unbelievable, and the soccer scenes are just bad. I did laugh a couple times though, and I didn't regret watching it. Still, it's just not that good.

Pretty Dumm for the first 30mins, then it picks up fast, and the rest of the film was B+ worthy. but the crap begining takes the grade down.

This just blew past all expectations I had. It was actually really funny and a nice surprise. Kinda like another Mean Girls on a smaller scale. Bynes made it work. I really enjoyed it. B
