With all of the negatives from the critics, hasn't anyone seen this movie to confirm if it is that bad.
And I am very curious to see the BO numbers tommorrow for this movie and Alexander. Will those critics negatives hurt their BO.

I liked it. Not the best movie in the world, and you can certainly find something better to see that's out now, but I still liked it. Jamie Lee Curtis was awesome, but I didn't care for Tim Allen.
A solid B movie.

Nice so good enough to see and not a waste of money.

It was good. Not laugh-out-loud funny, but quirky, warm.... it captured the holiday spirit nicely. I would give it **.5/**** or a B-

Saw it yesterday, and it was cute. A couple parts made me laugh out loud.
7/10 (B-)

- For starters, to hell with the RT critics and their 4 % positive rating.
- Above, there are 3 B votes which is probably better than all of the RT positive.
That said, I can see why the critics didn't like it. It is a silly fun movie with some bad moments and maybe alittle too much sentiment. But, at the theater, there were lots of laughs during the movie and good moments. Most of the actors were good, with maybe Tim Allen being the weakess, but he was playing classic Tim Allen.
I think most people who see this would give it a B/C range which may not be great but not as bad as the critics say.
For me alot better than Polar Express or Bridget Jones, etc. so I was pleasantly surprised.

I had a lot of fun watching this movie. I expected the worst, but I don't even know why this did so poorly with the critics. Was it the fact that Tim Allen was doing ANOTHER Christmas movie? I'm not sure at all, because I thought this was one fun movie. It will go greatly with all my other Christmas favorites. Grade: B+

Just saw it a few hours ago. It was a sweet movie that captured the holiday spirit. Obviously, it wasn't perfect, but it wasn't horrible either. I do disagree with Goldie, though. I didn't think Tim Allen was a weakness; I actually was getting pretty annoyed with Jaime Lee Curtis's character, and wanted to reach through and just strangle her. She was one of the parts of the movie that I didn't enjoy. But yeah, anyway, I'd give it a B. :-)

Just to clarify, I liked Tim Allen and I brought it up as I heard some people comment about him.
Overall, I didn't think he was a weakness to the movie but as I liked the others alittle more - Jamie Lee had her up and down moments but I thought I would hate her ( I liked the scenes where she was playing scared ) I also liked Dan A, and Emmit and the wife etc, so I thought that Tim Allen was the weakest of the actors. But I still liked him as he is still playing abit of his enjoyable tv toolman character.

Cool results so far - 8 people liking without any no likes. Plus I know in my theater it got lots of laughs and some claps at the end.
Hope this seemingly good WOM well liked movie gets some decent BO numbers despite the critics.

This movie is a great example of why I don't listen to critics. It's just a funny, light-hearted Christmas movie. I really don't know how come it's been getting so much bad reviews. Besides, Jamie Lee Curtis and Tim Allen are hilarious.

Terribly pathetic. It's a damn waste of a cast -why, Jamie, why? - and jokes are rare.

Sends the wrong message about Christmas, and tries to fix itself at the end but already has screwed up too much...Still good for laughs, and JLC and Tim Allen keep the movie from sinking. Akroyd is wasted. So is Cheech.
