Yeah, this one is really well done, great acting all around. Considering it has Jeff Bridges and Robin Williams in it, was directed by Terry Gilliam, was nominated for 5 oscars and won one for Supporting Actress, I'm surprised more people haven't heard of this one. A/A-

One of my favorites. Gilliam hit a home run. Even Robin Williams is wonderful. Movie magic.

I need to rewatch this one to settle on a final grade, but it is a very well-done movie, superbly directed by Terry Gilliam and even better acted by Robin Williams. The story of the movie is original and even though Perry's hallucinations are not real, they are still pretty imaginatve and Terry Gilliam really does what he can do best in those - comes up with some surreal, but enchanting images. Robin Williams deservingly got his Best Actor nomination and if it wasn't for Hopkins in that year, I'd say he deserved to win as well. At least he was much better in it than in the film he actually got the Oscar for - Good Will Hunting. It is a great tale of guilt, redemption and life. I thought the pay-off was not as great as I hoped for, but overall it is a really really good movie. My current grade is probably too low, but I'll wait till another viewing.

Re: The Fisher King
Not my favourite Gilliam (or even top five), but it's still rather terrific.
